Yangdem is a very charming girl from Pedong Basti, Kalimpong region. Kalimpong is a sub-division of Darjeeling and is located in the North Eastern part of India in the state of West Bengal. Yangdem’s patents Mr. Sonam Tendup Lepcha and Ms Mikki Lepcha are farmers and work in the farm of landlords. They do not have a place and a house of there own. Whatever they have belongs to the landlord. With a mere income of her parents who are poor farmers it was difficult for them to continue Yangdem’s studies. MARG has taken the initiative of helping Yangdem in her studies and thus have ignited her SMILE.
